I’m not a trained chef…I’m a nurse! But, I love to cook and entertain. I grew up in a family of ten and learned early on how to get a meal on the table. My mother was a great cook in her own right and knew how to stretch a dollar and use leftovers. By the time I left home, I knew how to plan a menu, cook it, get it to the table and use those leftovers too. After 50 years as a Registered Nurse, I retired. I had previously authored two DinnerOnTime cookbooks, and people frequently asked me when I was going to give cooking lessons. I never had time to do that when I was working but I’m ready to do that now.
My two cookbooks, “DinnerOnTime-Holiday and Special Occasion Cooking Preparation Guidelines and Shopping Lists” and “DinnerOnTime – Serving Hot Things Hot and Cold Things Cold” are full of great menus and recipes but their focus is on coordination of recipe preparation in the kitchen and include one-of-a-kind preparation timelines and shopping lists that help even the non-cook get all of the dishes on the menu to the table at the same time.
Now it’s time to for you to practice cooking skills and processes through live classes. Choose from a list of cooking classes and dates that offer hands-on learning for meal preparation in my home. Classes include a wide range of dinner menus and cooking methods (braising, stewing, sautéing, grilling etc.), “Marathon Cooking Days or Pack the Freezer” classes.** After spending 2 – 4 hours, depending on the menu, enjoy eating the entire dinner which you and your teammates have prepared. Take home the menu complete with recipes, timetable and shopping list plus many tips and some basic cooking skills.
**Marathon Cooking Day experience includes completing 5 – 9 recipes for the freezer that have a common theme such as chicken or beef. After the work is done, enjoy one of the meals with your teammates and divide the remaining meals among you to take home for your freezer. Or come by yourself (or bring a friend), choose 5 dishes from a list of 7 – 8 meals and we’ll “Pack Your Freezer” with 40 servings to have on hand when you are too tired or have not time to cook.
